The City of College Park is excited to partner with The Every Child Project (TECP) during the 2023-2024 school year to dedicate ongoing virtual tutoring to a minimum of 10 Greenbelt Middle School or Buck Lodge Middle School students who live in College Park!
TECP is a student-run tutoring organization that was formed at University of Maryland, College Park at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. The mission of TECP is to make high quality, personalized, tutoring accessible to all students by matching UMD students to K-12 children throughout Maryland. From there, our tutors provide free weekly one-on-one virtual tutoring sessions, catering their lessons to the needs of their tutee. Tutors are screened, equipped with resources, and attend development events throughout the semester.
Please fill out this form to register for one-on-one tutoring if you are the parent or legal guardian of the child who should be receiving tutoring through our services. ***If you are requesting tutoring for multiple children, please fill out a form for each child.***
The pilot program has a limited number of spots available this school year. Students completing applications will be notified of their status and the availability of tutors during the month of October.
If you have any questions/concerns, please feel free to reach out to TECP at tecp.umd@gmail.com or The City of College Park at families@collegeparkmd.gov
(Mr., Mrs., Dr., etc)
We will try to contact you using your preferred method whenever possible (and your assigned tutor will reach out using the preferred method), but we still collect both email/phone number in case we have to reach out to families en masse for general tutoring updates.
Please be specific (ex: for math, specify geometry, algebra)
If possible, please provide information for any teachers or other school faculty that your tutee's tutor can reach out to for more information about the tutee's progress in class and material being covered. By providing these contacts, you agree to allow the educator to disclose information about the tutee's activities in class.
Please note that we typically offer one 1-hour tutoring session per week. If your tutee would like help with multiple subjects and would require more frequent tutoring, 2 hours of tutoring per week can be provided.
If you would like to share any details about your child's learning style or struggles they have with a particular subject, please do so here. The more details we have, the better we are able to facilitate a tutor match! Please note that we are unable at this time to provide professional support or referrals for students with learning or language disabilities, however we can refer you to University of Maryland staff who are able to provide these services.
