College Park, MD February 13, 2023 – The City of College Park is proud to announce that Mayor Patrick L. Wojahn has been elected Chair of the National League of Cities (NLC) 2023 University Communities Council (UCC). As part of his one-year term, Mayor Wojahn will develop and guide programs among local elected officials from similar communities.

“This is a great opportunity to work with other Town-Gown communities that face similar challenges and opportunities as College Park,” said Mayor Wojahn. “I am proud to lead the NLC’s University Communities Council. I look forward to learning and working with other communities and to show what City-University collaboration can accomplish through what we’ve done in College Park.”

As a member of NLC’s UCC, Mayor Wojahn will play a key role among a diverse group of local leaders to encourage collaboration, networking, and the development of resources and programs beneficial to similar communities. The objectives of the UCC are to connect municipal officials from university communities and foster cooperation among universities, colleges, and local governments.

In addition to Mayor Wojahn, the 2023 UCC roster includes three more College Park representatives, Mayor Pro Tem Denise Mitchell and Councilmembers Stuart Adams and Kate Kennedy.
