Project: upper midtown land use and access study

Location

West side of Route 1, south of Cherokee Street and east of Autoville Drive

about the project

The City applied for and received a technical assistance grant in FY20 from the Washington Metropolitan Council of Governments (COG) Transportation Planning Board under their Transportation/Land Use Connections (TLC) program.  Grant funds administered by COG were used to contract with Kittelson and Associates to study the opportunities and constraints for redevelopment in the study area.  Due to the global pandemic, a planned stakeholder workshop could not be held so a survey was mailed instead to all properties in the study area and beyond.  The final report offers a range of options for redevelopment and recommendations for improved pedestrian and bicycle access.

STATUS

COMPLETED

Funding

The project was funded in full by the COG TLC program.
