City of College Park and University of Maryland to Offer

Shuttle-UM Bus Passes to Residents

College Park, MD, August 18, 2008 — On Tuesday, August 12, 2008, the College Park City Council approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Maryland Department of Transportation Services to offer Shuttle-UM services to City residents, which had been offered solely to UM students prior to this agreement.

The MOU outlines a pilot program to allow College Park residents to ride the Shuttle-UM beginning September 2, 2008, in exchange for a payment from the City.

Complimentary Shuttle-UM passes will be available at City Hall beginning August 18, 2008.  Residents will need to complete an application and show a photo ID and proof of College Park residency.  Residents can apply for the bus passes at City Hall from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday.  UM students do not need a resident pass to ride Shuttle-UM.
