Job Openings Recycling Coordinator/ Administrative Assistant F/T position within the College Park public works department. Duties will include coordinating and expanding an established municipal recycling program, maintaining the compost sales program, and performing administrative office functions to support the department director and others. Required qualifications include a high school diploma, valid driver’s license, a minimum of 3 years of progressive office experience, proficient use of Microsoft office software, and strong writing, organization, and customer service skills. Some experience and knowledge of municipal recycling is preferred along with a degree in environmental studies or business. A bachelor’s degree may substitute for office experience. Full-time position requiring two yrs experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance. Other requirements include: valid CDL with airbrake and tanker endorsements; ability to perform manual labor, lifting, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling heavy objects; ability to use power tools; ability to read directions and planting diagrams; ability to communicate effectively with residents and lead co-workers in completion of duties. Must also possess basic knowledge of landscape maintenance such as pruning trees and shrubs, mulching, planting and watering. MD registered pesticide technician certification required within six months of hire. Minimum starting wage is $15.42/hr. City application is required.Open until filled.
