City Election Information

 

The Mayor and City Council members are elected for two-year terms in non-partisan elections that are held every two years in November.  The Mayor is elected at large, and two Councilmembers are elected from each of the four Council districts in the City, for a total of eight Councilmembers. 

The next City of College Park Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2017.

Important Deadlines for General Election:

Voter Registration Deadline: Thursday, October 18, 2016
Absentee Ballot Application Deadline:  Friday, November 4, 2016

Early Voting:

Voter Registration:

You can use Maryland's Online Voter Registration System (OLVR) or submit a voter registration application to your local board of elections or the State Board of Elections at any time. Applications must be postmarked by the voter registration deadline in order to vote in the next scheduled election. The close of voter registration is:

• October 18, 2016, for the Presidential General Election. If using Maryland's Online Voter Registration System (OLVR), you have until 9:00 pm to submit your application.

Absentee Voting:

For Absentee Voting information, click here.  Any registered voter may vote by absentee ballot.  The deadline to request an Absentee Ballot is Tuesday, November 1, 2016.

To obtain an Absentee Ballot you must submit an Absentee Ballot Application and return it to your local Board of Election.
